Solar power is one of those green technologies and promises the future for the energy demand in future as it is renewable and abundant. All we need is a working system that captures the natural light and convert it into electricity. The readily available solution is the commercially available solar panel system.

A typical stand-alone system consists of solar panels which produce DC electricity from the sun. The solar panels are connected to a charge controller which controls the pace at which the storage batteries are recharged. Then an off-grid inverter is used to convert the DC (Direct Current) electricity stored in the battery to AC (Alternating Current) electricity which is more commonly used in home appliances.
